Today I get to share with you all, some virtual cake and beverage of choice! Hard to believe that it’s been over a year since I first started this blog. I owe it all to you, dear readers. A big thank you to everyone who has taken the time (a precious commodity these days) to read my ramblings and gawk at my images.
In the beginning…
I set out to create a blog to share some of my trials and tribulations with the Blood Bowl game. My vision was pretty small. I figured I would post, maybe answer the occasional question or two. Exchange some likes, maybes some comments, and follow some other blogs.
Present…
Wow, things have changed! I thought there would be more Blood Bowl bloggers, and we would probably have quite a bit to share with each other. Turns out that the number of bloggers whose sole focus is Blood Bowl, is very, very, very tiny.
As I expanded my horizons, I somehow managed to find (or be found) by a cult of chaos worshippers small community of miniature hobbyists. I now interact with a lot of other Games Workshop enthusiasts, but also with people who are working on historical minis and dioramas, etc. Not stuff I would have imagined initially.
It’s been a blast meeting people through the blogosphere. Some very thought-provoking (TIM), bad-ass (Azazel), crazy (IRO), scrappy (Ann), analytical (Luke), creative (Wudugast), humorous (Mark A Morin), nostalgic (BTH), funny (BigBossRedskullz), talented (Le Bim), gifted (miniature popcorns), witty (justneedsvarnish), and collection-crazed (Mike C) individuals out there! Pretty exciting to learn about you all and getting to meet more new people as time goes on. Thanks to you all for sharing your thoughts with me and keeping me going through all the comments. I think some of you know more about me than people I’ve worked with for years in the real world. Strange how that works, huh.
Future…
I mentioned not long ago, that I am expanding content a bit to cover Necromunda alongside Blood Bowl. Surprisingly to me, my first Necromunda post beat all my other posts stats-wise. I should have started a Necromunda blog, haha!
My focus will continue to be on miniatures based games though. Painting minis will often be a focal point, but I hope to share some more game stories, tool tips, match reports, and of course, some old minis.
I’m really looking forward to another year of blogging!

It’s a two way street my friend, it would be less of a community without your contribution. Many happy returns!

Congrats fella. One year is an achievement especially as I heard you don’t have any arms or legs and your real name is Bob. – IRO

Congratulations mate – and may there be many more happy years of blogging. I’m actually surprised that there aren’t more BB blogs, especially today with the re-release revival. But then again, a lot of that action is probably on (closed?) forums as well where it’s been for the last 20 years. I do have a couple of teams on my large-writ “Neglected”+”Unit” list, so I do intend to get them done once I get some other junk out of the way first!

Thanks mate! From what I gather on BB, a lot of the action seems to be centered around the tourney scene and not as much on modelling. Or at least from the forums I’ve seen.
Wow, would love to see some Azazel Blood Bowl Goodness! And some Necromunda stuff as well. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Bear in mind that it comes under the “Neglected” banner (to start with, anyway), so we’re talking about teams started quite some time ago now… 😉

This hobby, in my opinion, really works best when people are sharing ideas and inspiration. The more good bloggers are out there the more of a community there is and the healthier that community becomes. Happy blog-anniversary mate – I can never have too many creative and intelligent writers in my feed 🙂
It does seem a bit odd that there aren’t more blood bowl blogs, it seems to be quite popular (certainly last time I was involved with any gaming groups it was all about blood bowl with 40k a very distant second – and that was before all the nice new teams appeared). Hopefully by writing about it yourself you’ll encourage others to join in.

Thanks for the kind words! Yea, not sure what it is with Blood Bowl. Being in the US, I feel like I am out of the loop anyways. It was pretty surprising for me to read that your game group was more into BB than 40K.
I guess maybe I should get that BB Dwarf team done, so I’ll have more to write about! 😉

Happy Blog-birthday and I wish you many more to come! Humorous – I do indeed go for that, plus idiosyncratic, nostalgic, and always attempt for the interesting. Someday, when I get through all my retro sci-fi stuff, I will move on to more historical, but by that point, most if not all of what I work on will be truly lost to time!
I do so enjoy the blogs that I follow, and yours is a true gem. Thanks for the shout out and congrats!

Ha, the first word that came to my mind was “interesting”. I should have gone with my gut! Thanks Mark, glad you’re liking the blog. I’ll keep trying to make it interesting! 😀
